You're Invited: New Graduate Student Orientation (In-Person on Campus)
Welcome to the Wolf Pack! As you begin this new chapter, we want to make sure you start it the right way, and that starts with coming to campus.
Unlike many of the resources you'll use throughout your graduate program, this orientation is held in person, not online. We designed it that way on purpose. There are things you simply can't get through a screen: a real conversation with a program representative or a moment to find your people among the other new graduate students starting this journey alongside you.
We're trying something new: orientation is being held on a Saturday. That means no missed classes, no juggling a weekday work schedule, just a dedicated day to get oriented before the semester begins.
Here's why being on campus matters:
Put faces to names. We're inviting campus partners from across the university to join us so you can start building the connections you'll rely on all year.
Get real answers, right away. Bring your questions about enrollment, funding, or how graduate school works here at UWG. Walk out with answers, not another email thread.
Build your network before classes even start. Graduate school can feel isolating if you're navigating it alone. This is your chance to meet fellow graduate students who are starting exactly where you are.
See where things actually are. Knowing where the Graduate School office is, where to park, how to find your department, these things sound small until you're trying to figure them out for the first time during your first week of classes.
This is also your first taste of being part of something bigger: a campus community of scholars and professionals who are here to support you, not just process your paperwork.
